Today' Show Star Savannah Guthrie Just Revealed Her "Epic Fail" on Instagram - GoodHousekeeping.com

Savannah Guthrie seems to be a little upset with herself at the moment.

Last Wednesday, the Today show star shared a fun behind-the-scenes moment with Dateline correspondent Keith Morrison on her Instagram. In the clip she posted, Savannah asked Keith to record an outgoing voicemail greeting for her, an opportunity she called "#lifegoals." But as Savannah continued to explain in her caption, things didn't exactly go according to plan.

"Voicemail by Dateline legend - epic. Not recording it - epic fail," Savannah concluded after calling herself "the biggest loser." In other words, it sounds like Savannah forgot to press "record," which meant the voicemail greeting was never actually captured — talk about a major bummer.

Despite Savannah's "epic fail," fans still seemed to be super jealous that Savannah got the opportunity to speak with Keith in the first place. "Oh my gosh!!! This is my dream! 😂," one fan commented. "OMG! I would love to have him recording mine too," another said. "Okay you need a take two and make sure it records this time 😅," a different fan declared.

For Savannah's sake, we really hope Keith redid the recording. But even if he didn't, at least Savannah will always have the above video, which is pretty much the next best thing.

Keith appeared on Today last week to toast the 30th season of Dateline, the longest-running series in the history of NBC prime time. Keith was joined on the Today show plaza by Savannah, Hoda Kotb, Carson Daly, Craig Melvin, Al Roker, Lester Holt, Andrea Canning and Dennis Murphy.

The newest season of Dateline premiered on Friday and centered around three murders that occurred in the small town of Pembroke, Kentucky in 2015. This fall, new episodes of Dateline will air on Friday nights at 9 p.m. ET.
