Robert De Niro drops F-bombs in CNN interview about a Trump impeachment and Fox News - USA TODAY Posted: 29 Sep 2019 11:09 AM PDT Robert De Niro says he's not concerned about losing fans over his criticisms of President Donald Trump, adding that the current level of political discourse in the U.S. "is not normal." (April 18) AP Robert De Niro raised eyebrows Sunday morning, repeating a choice expletive twice in a live interview with CNN that ended up broadcasting two F-bombs without being censored. While discussing his outspoken, blunt disdain for President Donald Trump, De Niro, 76, told Brian Stelter on CNN's "Reliable Sources" that he believed Democrats have "no choice" but to impeach the president. "There's no way around it," the actor said. "This guy has done everything possible, much worse than I ever thought, ever. The day after he was elected, I said, 'Well, I'll give him a chance. You never know.' He is worse than I ever could have imagined. ... This guy should not be president, period." At the 2018 Tony Awards, De Niro made headlines when he exclaimed, "(Expletive) Trump!" onstage, though censors bleeped him before his cursing made it to the broadcast. Stelter brought up the incident, asking De Niro to clarify comments he made previously about Fox News coming after him as a result of the speech. "(Expletive) 'em. (Expletive) 'em," said DeNiro, this time uncensored, before Stelter chimed in to warn the actor that while cursing on a cable show isn't a Federal Communications Commission violation, it was still a Sunday morning news show. (Translation: Not illegal, but still taking things too far.) "Sorry," DeNiro said. "But let me say something: We are at a moment in our lives in this country. This guy is like a gangster. He's come along and he's said things and we've said over and over again, 'This is terrible. This is a terrible situation.' And this guy just keeps going on and on and on without being stopped." Stelter ended the segment by cutting to a commercial. Wochit, Wochit They certainly were "live from New York." Aidy Bryant couldn't help but break after a "Saturday Night Live" sketch didn't exactly go smoothly as one would hope. The "Shrill" star portrayed Denise Craw, host of the political show "Inside the Beltway." Bryant snickered when what appeared to be a staff member appeared onscreen, looking to take the bright pink coat that Bryant donned to convey a flashback on the show to 2016. The person tapped Bryant on the arm with time still left in the "previously recorded" episode. At first, Bryant looked like she was going to remove her jacket but then decided against it, and the person rushed off-camera. "I believe that the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice," Bryant finally got out. "Well said, Denise," Strong said with a chuckle. Wochit, Wochit Season 45 of "Saturday Night Live" saw a star-studded premiere. In addition to Alec Baldwin reprising his role as President Donald Trump, Democratic candidates were also impersonated by famous faces. Maya Rudolph, an "SNL" alum, portrayed Sen. Kamala Harris, and Larry David once again embodied Bernie Sanders for the Impeachment Town Hall. Rudolph's Harris, who at one point slipped on shades and sipped on a frozen drink, described herself as a "smooth talkin' lady lawyer" and a "walkin,' talkin' TNT show" who is "America's cool aunt. A fun aunt, I call that a 'funt.' " What kind of funt, no one asked? "The kind of funt that will give you weed but then arrest you for having weed." In his closing words, "Sanders" offered: "America, here is my promise to you: Free college, free health care, free refills on any medium-size soft drink."
